SONGWRITING
In addition to my careers as an operatic tenor, a voice teacher, and voice researcher, I am also a singer-songwriter. The music I write falls into many genres including, but not limited to; Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Progressive Metal, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Alternative Rock, and Soft Rock.
Some of my first real experience on a stage was not doing theater, but with my local rock band. Since I first started, I have been in three different bands, released three full length albums, two EP's and a single, and performed on various stages in the New York / New Jersey area including both the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ, and the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.
Songwriting has been one of my passions for a very long time and I try to approach it in a similar way to my performance career in that my aim is to tell a story and communicate an idea or message in the songs that I write. From the smallest difference of an article in a sentence or an 8th note pickup verses a 16th note pickup, everything should have a significance to the song, otherwise, why have it?
